Owner & Lead Photographer

I am a full-time father and husband and lead photographer. I specialize in action sports, music, and event photography. I began by photographing my kids' rec league sports teams and have since expanded to middle schools, high schools, club and travel teams, as well as amateur and adult leagues . In addition to athletics, I am heavily involved in performance photography and have had the opportunity to photograph some great artists at venues around Columbus, Ohio - Kemba Live (Promowest Productions), The Newport, The Atheneum, King of Clubs, Wexner, and Mershon Auditorium to name a few. These events have allowed me to get front and center for some amazing performances from bands such as The Avett Brothers, Sarah Jarosz, Umphrey's McGee, Les Clayool, Grace Potter, JJ Gray and Mofro, Martin Sexton, Andrew Bird, Iron and Wine, and many others.

I excel at capturing live moments that showcase athletes, musicians, performers, and entertainers engaging in what they love. In addition to these more physical events, I have captured numerous corporate events for companies throughout Columbus, as well as family portraits and gatherings.

Whether you are looking to capture your athlete in the heat of the moment, a musician on stage pouring out their emotions, the beauty of a dance recital or cheer competition, or even the happiness that abounds at family gatherings, Backbeat Photography will work with you to meet your needs and capture your moment in the moment.
